Solviren ("we", "us", "our") operates the energy-dashboard service available at solviren.com. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, and your rights in relation to it. By using Solviren you agree to the practices described here.
Alessandro Nardi is the data controller for all personal data processed through Solviren. You can reach us at support@solviren.com for any privacy-related requests.
We collect the following categories of personal data:
• Account data: email address, display name, and (if you register with a password) a bcrypt hash of your password.
• Google OAuth identifier: if you sign in with Google, we store the subject ID Google provides.
• Usage and security data: IP address and browser user-agent string, logged on authentication events for fraud and abuse detection.
• Location data: latitude and longitude that you provide voluntarily when adding a property address for solar-panel or heat-pump analysis.
• Energy data: electricity and gas consumption figures and costs that you enter or upload.
• Contact form: name, email, inquiry type, subject, and message text when you contact us.
We do not collect payment card or banking information.
We use your data for the following purposes:
• Service delivery: authenticating your account, running bill analysis, solar and heat-pump simulations, and ROI modelling.
• Transactional emails: sending password-reset and email-verification messages via Resend.
• Security: recording login events (including IP address and user-agent) to detect and investigate abuse.
• Analytics: measuring aggregate usage patterns through Google Analytics 4 (GA4, measurement ID G-X7FQMQMTE3), only if you grant consent via the cookie banner.
• Advertising: serving ads through Google AdSense (publisher ID ca-pub-8686301751666491). Google and its partners may use cookies to show you personalised ads based on your interests and browsing activity across sites.
Legal bases under GDPR: contract performance (core service); legitimate interests (security, fraud prevention); consent (analytics and advertising cookies).
We use the following categories of cookies:
• Strictly necessary: access_token (15 min) and refresh_token (7 days) for session management; session cookie for OAuth state. These cannot be disabled without breaking the service.
• Analytics (consent required): Google Analytics GA4 sets _ga and related cookies to measure site usage. These are only activated if you accept analytics in the cookie banner.
• Advertising: Google AdSense sets cookies (e.g. IDE, DSID) to deliver and measure ads, including personalised ads based on your interests. You can opt out of personalised advertising at https://adssettings.google.com or via the IAB Transparency & Consent Framework controls in the cookie banner.

Account and energy data are kept for as long as your account is active. When you delete your account, all personal data is erased; audit log entries are anonymised (your user ID is replaced with null). Security audit logs (IP address, user-agent) are retained for a reasonable period for fraud investigation. GA4 event data is retained for 14 months under Google's default policy. Contact form messages are not stored on our servers after delivery.
If you are in the EEA or UK, you have the right to:
• Access a copy of your personal data (use the "Export my data" feature in your account settings, or email us).
• Rectify inaccurate data.
• Erase your data ("right to be forgotten") — available via "Delete account" in settings.
• Restrict or object to processing.
• Receive your data in a portable format.
• Withdraw consent at any time for processing based on consent (e.g. analytics cookies).
To exercise any right, email support@solviren.com. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority.
